Frequently Asked Questions

New technology raises lots of new questions! We’ve tried to answer some of the most frequently asked questions on our laser tattoo removal service below.

How does it work? A laser pen directs light energy briefly over your tattoo, passing harmlessly through the skin to break down the tattoo ink beneath. As parts of it break down your body naturally removes and absorbs the ink particles gradually fading the tattoo away over a number of sessions.

Can multi-coloured tattoos be removed? Not every time; a lot depends on factors like your immune system, skin tone and types of ink used. We use the latest Cynosure laser system so its success rate is very high but some shades of purple, pink, yellow and white can remain.

Can you just take one bit of the tattoo off? Absolutely; regretting having a certain name on a certain heart scroll? No problem we can take out just the name leaving a blank canvas!

Does it hurt?It feels a little bit like having a tattoo done, but takes just seconds rather than hours, we recommend applying an anaesthetic cream before treatment for minimal discomfort.

Will it scar? People who suffer from keloids or that scar easily may suffer some scarring but it’s unusual, following our after-care procedures greatly reduces any risk.

What will it cost? Each laser tattoo removal treatment costs from only £35.

How many treatments will it take? Depending on a lot of variables a general average is 5-15 treatments for complete removal; you can come to a consultation with us to get an accurate estimate.

How often can I get a treatment? Depending on the individual we always leave 6-8 weeks between each treatment, this allows your body to break everything down completely and reduces the number of treatments you will need.

My friend tried it and said it didn’t work? If they only had one or two treatments it’s possible the tattoo got darker; complete removal means seeing through the whole process and keeping patient!

Do I have to stay out of the sun or anything afterwards? The skin will be a little sensitive so you need to avoid the area being rubbed or scratched, keep it covered up from direct sunlight until fully healed and avoid activities like swimming and intense exercise for the first days afterwards.

Why not arrange a consultation and get a better idea of how well your tattoo will react to laser removal, and how long it might take? Contact us today to arrange to come in and meet one of our friendly team!
